Sierra Canyon (CA) interior offensive lineman Eugene Brooks committed to Oklahoma on Tuesday morning.

The 6-foot-5 trench player holds nearly 20 offers, but chose the Sooners over Texas after cutting his list down to two schools earlier this month. Rated a 4-star prospect, Brooks is one of the top 12 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 class according to Rivals.

Weighing 320 pounds, Brooks fits well with coach Bill Bedenbaugh's style of road-grating interior lineman who are maulers in run and pass protection.

Prior to being offered by Brent Venables and company, Brooks visited Norman on June 9, the same weekend as fellow OU commits Michael Hawkins Jr. and Zion Ragins

Brooks was offered by the Sooners on June 11 while the Trailblazers standout was still in Oklahoma. Following Brooks' commitment, OU now has two offensive lineman in the 2024 class after 4-star tackle Isaiah Autry pledged his commitment back in April.

The skilled interior lineman was offered by Lincoln Riley and USC in January. The Trojans, however, did not make the final cut in Brooks' recruitment.

While Brooks' commitment is big for Oklahoma due to the rising senior's talent, the fact that Brooks chose the Sooners over the Longhorns makes his decision even sweeter for OU fans. Additionally, being able to win battles against one the Sooners' biggest rival is always a good sign.

Bedenbaugh and company will still need to pick up a few more offensive lineman in the 2024 class to feel good about the future of the trenches on that side of the ball. With Edmond Santa Fe (OK) lineman Josh Aisosa set to announce his commitment in mid-August, Oklahoma could add another player to the 2024 offensive line group very soon.
