OU Recruiting: Oklahoma Lands Third OL in 2024 Class

The Sooners' won a big recruiting battle on Saturday, earning a commitment from one of the top players in the state.

Josh Aisosa, a 3-star offensive lineman from Edmond Santa Fe (OK), has committed to Oklahoma

The 2024 prospect was originally set to announce his commitment on Aug. 14, but Tweeted earlier in the day that he was considering making his decision early.

A 3-star prospect according to Rivals and 247Sports, Aisosa chose Oklahoma over Iowa State, UTSA, UNLV and others.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, Aisosa is a two-sport athlete, also competing as a wrestler. OU offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has a history of recruiting offensive lineman who wrestle, as Creed Humphrey was also an accomplished high school wrestler.

Aisosa is the second Edmond Santa Fe prospect  the Sooners have landed in the 2024 class, as Wolves' edge rusher Bergin Kysar pledged his commitment to Brent Venables and company just a few days ago. Edmond Santa Fe 2024 defensive back Kyus Henry and 2025 running back Demarius Robinson have also heard from Oklahoma over the summer after attending the Brent Venables Elite Camp in June.

Aisosa is OU's third offensive line commit in the 2024 class, joining Itawamba Agricultural (MS) offensive tackle Isaiah Autry and Sierra Canyon (CA) interior lineman Eugene Brooks

Aisosa's pledge to the Sooners is important for multiple reasons.

Not only does Bedenbaugh add another talented trench player to a class that was still in need of a few lineman, but it is also big for Venables and company to keep the state's best prospects in Oklahoma. This will pay dividends recruiting in-state players down the line and it helps grow a strong culture around the program.

Aisosa is OU's 19th scholarship player to commit in the 2024 class. When factoring in walk-on commitments from Jacob Jordan, Ace Hodges and Kysar, the Sooners are over 20 pledges in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
