Where Does OU Stand In The Initial Playoff Rankings?
The initial College Football Playoff rankings have now been released. In the first release, Oklahoma enters as the ninth ranked team just ahead of Florida and right behind Utah and Oregon. The Sooners face an uphill battle as there could be a log-jam of one-loss teams in the coming weeks.
Some big games this week include: #2 LSU (8-0) @ #3 Alabama (8-0) and #4 Penn State (8-0) travels to #17 Minnesota (8-0).
In the coming weeks, #1 Ohio State will play # 4 Penn State, #6 Georgia will still play Auburn, A&M, and Missouri before a potential SEC title game. Oregon and Utah are on a collision course for a matchup in the Pac 12 title game. This doesn’t include any upsets that WILL occur.
There are so many scenarios that will need to unfold before the final four teams are decided upon. The message is take care of business and win out. If the ninth ranked Oklahoma Sooners win the Big 12, they have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs for a third year in a row.
Oklahoma hosts Iowa State at 7 PM this Saturday on FOX.
