Williams Nwaneri, Oklahoma's Top 2024 Target, Locks Down Announcement

The No. 1 defensive end in the nation has long been a priority recruit for the Sooners, and announced Thursday he's chosen the time he'll let everyone know.

Williams Nwaneri, one of the top high school defensive players in the nation, announced Thursday that he's chosen what time he will reveal his choice for playing college football.

Nwaneri, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound edge rusher from Lee's Summit North High School near Kansas City, will announce his decision at 3 p.m. Monday.

Nwaneri is down to OU and Missouri, although he also has included Oregon, Georgia and Tennessee in his final five.

He's made visiting he OU campus part of his routine, which has long put the Sooners in the role as favorites to land Nwaneri's prodigious talents. But Missouri, which is not far from his family home in Lee's Summit, has reportedly made significant inroads recently.

Recruiting insiders who have followed his recruitment closely have swung back and forth between OU and Mizzou lately.

John holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from East Central University in Ada, OK. Born and raised in North Pole, Alaska, John played football and wrote for the school paper at Ada High School in Ada, OK. He enjoys books, movies and travel, and lives in Broken Arrow, OK, with his wife and two kids.
