Oklahoma head men's basketball coach Porter Moser announced the addition of transfer guard Le'Tre Darthard to the 2023-24 roster on Wednesday.

Darthard joins the Sooners after three seasons at Utah Valley and one season at McCook Community College. He appeared in 87 games and made 69 starts for UVU, averaging 10.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. Darthard shot 85.7 percent (204-238) from the line, 43.0 percent (286-665) from the floor and 37.8 percent (137-362) from 3-point range.

"Le'Tre brings experience and toughness on both ends of the court," said Moser. "He was a member of two championship teams at Utah Valley and showed his ability last season in the WAC as an all-defensive and all-league selection. Le'Tre is an efficient three-level scorer who has deep range. I am excited for him to join the OU family."

The Denton, TX, product started all 37 games last season for the 2023 Western Athletic Conference regular season champions, averaging 13.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per outing. He shot 88.9 percent (136-153) from the line, 42.5 percent (152-358) from the field and 35.6 percent (69-194) from deep. Darthard was selected to the 2022-23 All-WAC First Team and All-Defensive Team.

He led the WAC in free throw percentage and ranked 15th nationally. In addition, Darthard was third in the conference in 3-point attempts (194), fourth in free throws made (136), sixth in free throw attempts (153), sixth in steals (46), sixth in 3-pointers made (69) and seventh in 3-pointers per game (1.8).

During the 2021-22 campaign, he appeared in 28 games and made 26 starts, averaging 9.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. Darthard shot 84.8 percent (56-66) from the free throw line, 40.5 percent (87-215) from the field and 37.6 percent (44-117) from deep.

In his first season with the Wolverines, Darthard set the UVU single-season 3-point field goal percentage mark, firing an impressive 47.1% (24-51) from beyond the arc. As a key reserve, he appeared in 22 games and made six starts, helping Utah Valley claim the 2021 WAC regular season title. Darthard averaged 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

In 2019-20 at McCook, he averaged 18.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 assists per outing. Darthard shot 58.7% from the field and 44.9 percent from 3-point range. He earned All-Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference honors and was named to the Omaha World Herald All-NJCAA team.

Darthard prepped at Denton Guyer High School and Hargrove Military Academy. He earned Texas 6A All-Area and All-District honors at Denton Guyer and averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in his final season at HMA.

Darthard joins fellow incoming guard Javian McCollum as transfer additions to the roster for next season.
