Oklahoma has dipped back into the transfer portal.

For the fourth time this offseason, the Sooners have made an addition to their roster from the college ranks with Utah Valley guard Le’Tre Darthard announcing his commitment to OU on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound guard made 37 starts for UVU last season, averaging 13.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

A Denton, TX native, Darthard began his career at McCook Community College before becoming a member of the Wolverines in 2020.

As a sophomore, he helped Utah Valley claim a regular season WAC title as a bench piece before becoming a regular starter in his second season with the program in 2021-22.

Darthard now joins a suddenly loaded collection of guards for Porter Moser, with returning starter Milos Uzan leading the way followed by fellow transfers Javian McCollum from Siena and Rivaldo Soares from Oregon.

Also added through the portal in this cycle was Pittsburgh big man John Hugely, as Moser and company look to again reconstruct the roster following a large amount of turnover.

Along with two incoming freshmen in Kaden Cooper and Jacolb Cole, plus elevating forward Sam Godwin to scholarship, the Sooners have now used seven open scholarship spots this offseason after losing eight players through graduation, the NBA draft and the transfer portal.
