After months without extending an offer to a sophomore quarterback, Oklahoma has finally found their target.

On Monday morning, Seth Littrell and company extended an offer to Jared Curtis, a 5-star passer from Nashville Christian School (TN) in the 2026 recruiting class.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Curtis is rated the No. 1 player in the country by 247Sports and already holds offers from Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama and many others.

Already possessing great size and stature, Curtis is a solid runner with plenty of arm strength despite his youth.

The Sooners also offered 2026 Horn (TX) quarterback Legend Bey a few months ago, but the athletic playmaker seems to be viewed as a wide receiver at the next level by the OU staff.

Even though it is still early in the process for Curtis, expert predictions from multiple recruiting websites place his landing spot at either Georgia or Ohio State.

With 30 offers already, including some of the top programs in the nation, the Sooners will have an uphill battle trying to lure Curtis away from some of the other schools pursuing the 5-star signal caller.

Still, Oklahoma's history of success at the quarterback position may help Littrell and company in their recruitment of the big-armed QB. In the 2023 recruiting class, OU was able to land 5-star quarterback Jackson Arnold over a slew of other respected programs like Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU and others.

The difference in Arnold's recruitment, however, was the coaching staff and the proximity to home.

Arnold committed to the Sooners under former offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, who has since left to become the head coach at Mississippi State. Lebby also landed commitments from 4-star QB Michael Hawkins Jr. and 3-star signal caller Brendan Zurbrugg in the 2024 class and 4-star passer Kevin Sperry in the 2025 cycle.

So far, the Sooners' new offensive coordinator duo of Littrell and Joe Jon Finley has been able to keep Hawkins Jr., Zurbrugg and Sperry on board, as the two 2024 quarterbacks started classes at OU last week.

In December, Sperry reaffirmed his commitment to the Sooners, saying that he is "locked in" with Brent Venables and Oklahoma.

With Littrell now at the helm on offense, the Sooners' newest play caller will have to prove that he can beat out some of the best programs in the nation on the recruiting trail if OU wants a chance to land Curtis.
