Sophia Bordi, a 2025 pitcher from New Jersey, committed to Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon.

Bordi is one of the top pitchers in the nation, earning New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year for her efforts in 2023.

Attending Haddon Heights (NJ) High School, Bordi has helped lead her team to consecutive state championship victories, throwing a 20-strikeout no-hitter in the title game as a freshman before following her outstanding performance with a 16-strikeout perfect game as a sophomore in the 2023 state championship.

The New Jersey native plays travel ball with the OC Batbusters, a travel organization that Patty Gasso has a deep history with. Many of the current and former Sooners' stars were Batbusters' products, establishing a great a recruiting pipeline from California to Oklahoma.

Bordi's commitment continues a dominant recruiting run for Gasso and OU, as the team has managed to continually bring in the nation's top transfers and recruits.

"Thank you to Coach (Patty) Gasso, Coach JT (Gasso) and Coach (Jennifer) Rocha for not only showing me what being a Sooner is all about, but also giving me an opportunity to be apart of this incredible program," Bordi said in her commitment post on social media.

The talented junior has been to Norman multiple times and was at OU's softball camp in July of 2022.

Bordi has also trained with former Sooners' star Jocelyn Alo, who was a member of the Batbusters in high school and set multiple NCAA softball records during her time with the Sooners.

While the 2025 class still has almost two years before they will arrive on campus, getting a commitment from such a talented player early in the process will help Gasso and company build out another impressive recruiting class next year.
