OU Softball: Oklahoma Pitcher Named Transfer of the Year

Michigan transfer Alex Storako made the most of her only year at Oklahoma, winning Softball America's Transfer of the Year Award on Friday.

The honors keep rolling in for Patty Gasso’s national champions.

Pitcher Alex Storako was named Softball America’s Transfer of the Year on Friday.

After four strong years as a Michigan Wolverine, Storako made the move to Norman for the 2023 season where she made a huge impact.

She started 18 games, posting a perfect 18-0 record, while making 29 total appearances for Oklahoma last year.

Continuing her excellent efforts from Michigan, Storako ended the year with a 1.15 ERA, striking out 108 batters while allowing just 19 walks in 103 2/3 innings pitched.

Opponents only hit .165 off Storako’s right arm, and the veteran pitcher allowed just 17 earned runs all season long.

Her final appearance for the Sooners came in the decisive contest of the Women’s College World Series, as she allowed just one run in four innings of work to help fire Oklahoma past Florida State to notch the program’s third-straight national title.

Storako’s season saw her selected with the No. 1-overall pick in the Women’s Professional Fastpitch draft, where she now plays professionally for the Oklahoma City Spark.
