Report: Oklahoma Sophomore Enters Transfer Portal

Jocelyn Erickson, who just finished her freshman season with the Oklahoma Sooners, has reportedly entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The news was first reported was reported Monday by Justin McLeod of Extra Innings Softball via Twitter.

Erickson, from Phoenix, batted .337 this season with seven home runs, 11 doubles and 32 RBIs as she alternated as a starter between first base (16 games), right field (nine) and designated player (seven).

She began her career red hot, with home runs in four consecutive games in February, including a game on Feb. 18 against Stephen F. Austin in which she was 5-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and eight RBIs.

By Feb. 24, her batting average had climbed to a team-leading .579. She also led the squad at that point with five home runs and 17 RBIs.

But Erickson's productivity dipped over the remainder of her rookie season, as she hit just two home runs with 18 RBIs over the next 53 games. During the Sooners' final 10 games of the postseason, the left-handed hitting Erickson batted .118 and hit just one home run with one RBI, a solo shot against California.
