Jennie Baranczyk’s final path through the Big 12 is now known.

The conference announced the Big 12 matchups for the upcoming women’s basketball season on Thursday, as the format has been slightly altered to accommodate the expanded conference.

Previously, every Big 12 team played every other basketball team in the conference twice, once at home and once on the road.

In Oklahoma’s final season in the conference, Baranczyk’s Sooners will be matched up with five teams to play a home-and-home, and will play the eight other teams just once.

OU will take on Texas, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State and Cincinnati twice each.

The Sooners will then host Baylor, UCF, TCU and Texas Tech exclusively at the Lloyd Noble Center, while hitting the road to square off against BYU, Houston, Iowa State and West Virginia.

Last year, Baranczyk took a step forward in her second year in Norman.

Oklahoma shared the Big 12 regular season title with Texas, while ending up as the 2-seed in the Big 12 Tournament as both teams finished 14-4 in league play but the Longhorns hammered OU in both meetings between the departing powers.

Iowa State and West Virginia both finished in the top half of the league a year ago and could prove to be tough road tests for the Sooners who are having to replace a wealth of both experience and production in Madi Williams, Taylor Robertson and Ana Llanusa ahead of the 2023-24 season.

With the matchups now known, Oklahoma’s full schedule for Baranczyk’s third season at the helm will be released at a later date.
