Oklahoma State Baseball Scores 16 Runs in Victory Over UCF
Oklahoma State baseball rebounded on Sunday night with a much needed win over UCF. While the Pokes did ultimately lose the series, they were able to prevent the sweep. The Cowboys will try to keep it going on Tuesday night against Missouri State.
The bats were hot on Sunday, as the Cowboys had 14 hits with many of those going for extra bases. Both teams had an eye for the ball, with six home runs hit between both teams.
Collin Brueggemann had an excellent day at the plate, going three-for-five including two doubles and a homer, as well as four RBIs. Aidan Meola had a good game as well, going two-for-four with a home run and five RBIs.
The pitching wasn't great to say the least, but it was good enough to get them the win. Tommy Molsky was credited with the win after coming in after starter Janzen Keisel was pulled in the second inning.
The Pokes went through eight different pitchers over the course of Sunday nights game, allowing 11 hits and striking out seven batters as a whole. Junior Robert Cranz had the best day on the mound out of the group in my opinion. Cranz went for 2.1 innings and only allowed one base runner that reached first on a walk.
Overall, it was a good rebound game for Oklahoma State. They got to let plenty of pitchers get some experience with the big lead, and they prevented the dreaded sweep. The Cowboys will take on Missouri State on Tuesday night, and then they'll host a three game series with TCU starting on Friday.
NOTABLE PLAYERS:
Collin Brueggemann - 3H, HR, 4 RBIs
Aidan Meola - 2H, HR, 5 RBIs
Zach Ehrhard - 2 H, RBI, 3 R
