Three-star Matt Polk Commits to Oklahoma State
STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State has landed another commitment in the 2020 class, this time out of Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, AZ in three-star receiver Matt Polk.
Polk, who's father, Raymond Polk played at Oklahoma State back in 1981 and '82, took to Twitter Tuesday evening, the day of his 18th birthday to make the announcement.
"First off, I'd like to address that without God I wouldn't be where I am today. I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for keeping me grounded and showing me right from wrong, as well as the rest of my family and friends there for me! I want to tank my coaches for everything, they put in overtime to help me success and that means a lot, especially Coach Mohns and Coach Collins! Thank you Coach Dunn and Coach Gundy for giving me this opportunity! Also thank you to all the other programs and coaches that recruited me! With that being said for the next few years I will be taking my talents to.. OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY"
Polk commits to Oklahoma State over Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Northern Arizona, Oregon State, Purdue, Tennessee and UCLA.
Polk, a 6-4, 210-pound receiver prospect has been on Oklahoma State's radar since they offered him on Jan. 22 of this year and he's been to Stillwater numerous times since, including his official visit the weekend of the Spring Game.
The only other school that Polk's officially visited was Cal back on the weekend of June 7.
He's a tall, fast and physical receiver who can go up in traffic and bring the ball down. He's also a rather difficult receiver to bring down as you'll see in the tweet below.
Through the first six games of the season, Saguaro is 5-1 and don't show any signs of slowing down soon. Polk's also been great through the first six games as he's hauled in 19 receptions for 446 yards and five touchdowns.
As mentioned, Polk is a three-star receiver prospect and checks in as the No. 538 ranked prospect in the country, the No. 97 ranked receiver and the No. 15 ranked prospect out of Arizona according to the 247Sports Composite.
