Oklahoma State upset Kansas State 29-21 to open up the weekend of college football. After having lost to Iowa State to open conference play in Week 4, hope was all but lost for the Oklahoma State fanbase, now, while the path is a difficult one, the energy has flipped in Stillwater.
Watching the rest of the Big 12 and how they fare week in and week out is important for the Cowboys and fans as college football is unpredictable and anything can happen in the Big 12.
How did the entire conference fare in Week 6 of college football play?
Oklahoma State defeated Kansas State 29-21. As mentioned, the Cowboys upset the Wildcats with stifling defense and taking advantage of opportunities offensively, though converting more touchdowns instead of field goals is an area for the Cowboys to improve.
Iowa State holds off TCU 27-14. The Cyclones allowed just 14 points, fueled by four interceptions while taking advantage of the forced turnovers. The Horned Frogs are 1-2 in Big 12 play this season.
Oklahoma takes the hat and beats Texas 34-30 in Red River Rivalry. The Sooners had their backs against the wall with nearly a minute to go, as Dillon Gabriel led the team down the field to complete the comeback.
Kansas takes care of UCF 51-22. Throwing the ball just 12 times with Jason Bean taking snaps under center, 51 rushes for 399 yards as a unit led the Jayhawks to victory.
Texas Tech takes care of Baylor, winning 39-14 in Waco. This one was straight-up surprising. Jahj Brooks had 171 yards rushing on 31 touches and a touchdown to help lead his team to victory. Behren Morton threw for an additional 180 yards and three touchdowns to seal the victory.
