Big 12: All Pokes Staff ATS Picks For Week 6 Big 12 Matchups
With Week 6 of college football here, the All Pokes staff made their selections against the spread for each Big 12 matchup.
Kansas State (-12) vs. Oklahoma State
Nick Friesen: I like OSU to cover this one but lose in this one. The Cowboys are coming off a bye week, and they are looking to prove people wrong on Friday. With Alan Bowman being named the starting quarterback, the offense will be more balanced and more comfortable. Oklahoma State +12
Logan Jones: Kansas State -12
Ivan White: A tough season for the Cowboys continues. The Wildcats will be too much for Oklahoma State to handle as it tries to turn its season around. Kansas State -12
Kade Kimble: This is a huge game for Oklahoma State, but a win against Kansas State's impeccable offense will be tough. The Cowboys will backdoor cover while showing promise for the weeks ahead. Oklahoma State +12
Oklahoma vs. Texas (-6.5)
Nick: I like Texas to win this one. Oklahoma has been a force on offenses this year, but they haven't played a team like the Longhorns. Texas is 17th in total defense this year. Give me the Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry. Texas -6.5
Logan: Texas has the better offensive and defensive line, I think that’ll be the decider in this game. Texas -6.5
Ivan: The biggest Red River game in years should be a fun one. Texas will take its first loss of the season in what could be the Longhorns’ final Big 12 matchup against the Sooners. Oklahoma +6.5
Kade: This will be one of the best matchups in college football this weekend, but the big stage will be slightly too big for Dillon Gabriel in his biggest career game. The Sooners backdoor cover against the Longhorns. Oklahoma +6.5
UCF vs. Kansas (-2.5)
Nick: I like Kansas in this game. Both teams are waiting on answers for their quarterback position as they are dealing with injuries. With or without Jalon Daniels, Kansas still will still produce on offense. Kansas -2.5
Logan: I think with Jalon Daniels back this week (most likely) Kansas will have the offensive firepower needed to win. Kansas -2.5
Ivan: The Jayhawks and Knights both suffered tough losses but in different ways. Kansas takes care of business on its home field with a solid win against UCF. Kansas -2.5
Kade: Despite a tough loss to Texas, Kansas remains a top team in the Big 12 this season and they should have no issue covering at home this weekend. Kansas -2.5
Texas Tech (-1) vs. Baylor
Nick: Both teams need this game. Texas Tech was the favorite to compete for a Big 12 Championship, but the Red Raiders have not played well this season. Tight games have been a theme for Texas Tech. I think Baylor will take this one in another tight game. Baylor +1
Logan: Despite their struggles early, I think they can beat Baylor. Baylor absolutely collapsed last week against UCF, and I don’t think they’ll respond well. Texas Tech -1
Ivan: After a shocking comeback win against UCF, Baylor will try to roll that momentum into its matchup with Texas Tech. But the Red Raiders will prove to be too much for the Bears to handle. Texas Tech -1
Kade: Baylor seemed to have found something as they made an incredible comeback over UCF a week ago. They now have that momentum to bring into this matchup as slight underdogs. Baylor +1
TCU (-6.5) vs. Iowa State
Nick: I like TCU to win this one. After the win against Oklahoma State, Iowa State went back to its old ways on offense against Oklahoma. TCU is an offense that likes to go fast and score quickly. Iowa State won't be able to keep up with them at all. TCU -6.5
Logan: I think Iowa State has the defense the at least keep this one close and force some mistakes from Chandler Morris. TCU wins but Iowa State covers. Iowa State +6.5
Ivan: After making the National Championship game last season, TCU has had a rocky season, but a matchup with Iowa State should help. The Cyclones got routed in Norman last week, and their Big 12 schedule could really start to take its toll. TCU -6.5
Kade: TCU has struggled to find its rhythm this season with so much roster turnover, but playing the Cyclones will help with this. Iowa State is coming off a loss to Oklahoma, whereas TCU will be looking to rebound from a loss to West Virginia. TCU -6.5
