The Oklahoma State Cowboys might have hit their bye week at the perfect time. Heading into Week 5 of college football, the Cowboys sit at 2-2 with a lone loss in conference play to Iowa State.

Over the course of the season, the Cowboys have shown different capabilities at different times. As low as the defense has looked, they've had promising moments. On the offensive end, having an established starter seemed to impact the offense in a positive way. Now, they've got a bye week to work out the wrinkles and find consistency.

As Big 12 play hits its second full week, there are updated odds as to who will win the conference. On the season, Oklahoma State's odds have gotten further and further away.

Just two weeks ago, the Cowboys hoisted +4000 odds to win the conference, just before they played South Alabama. The loss kicked them to +9000, and then they lost their first conference game. They now hold +1000 odds, according to Caesars Sportsbook

The Cowboys entered conference play with a unique schedule. They play all four of the newcomers on the season, most with their final three games all coming against newcomers. Starting things off with a loss to Iowa State isn't a good look for them when it comes to being in a position to win the conference championship, though.

Both on their way out of the conference, Texas (-140) and Oklahoma (+240) hold the top two odds to win the conference. This can be seen as a good or bad thing. On one hand, the conference will be more wide open as soon as next year. On the other hand, the conference is losing its top two talented teams.

Baylor and Houston each have worse odds of winning the conference, with the Cowboys holding the tenth-best odds to win the conference (tied with Cincinnati and BYU).
