With the Texas Longhorns taking the Big 12 Championship over Oklahoma State on Saturday, it is now officially bowl season.

Before we take a look at the Texas Bowl matchup against Texas A&M, let's take a look at my final Big 12 standings this season.

1. Texas – The Longhorns are the most complete team in this conference, and they put on a show on Saturday against Oklahoma State

2. Oklahoma – The Sooners were unstoppable in its regular season finale against TCU, and they're looking to make a statement in the Alamo Bowl.

3. Oklahoma State – Oklahoma State is still a top-three team in this conference. The Cowboys just ran into a bad matchup with the Texas Longhorns.

4. Kansas State – The Wildcats finished 5-2 on the season, including averaging 39 points per game in those seven games.

5. West Virginia – Won four of its last five games, and will look to take down North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

6. Iowa State – One of the more surprising teams in the Big 12 this season. Iowa State will be more than ready to compete with the new teams next season.

7. Kansas – The Jayhawks looked poised for a conference championship berth after beating Oklahoma, but it went 2-2 to finish the season.

8. UCF – When everyone was healthy this season for the Knights, they were a dangerous team. They were also inconsistent at times this season.

9. Texas Tech – A disappointing season for the Red Raiders ends in a 57-7 loss to Texas. They will look to bounce back against California in the Independence Bowl.

10. TCU – Another disappointing team this season. Ended the season 1-4, including a 69-45 loss to Oklahoma to end the regular season.

11. BYU – After starting out 5-2 on the season, BYU lost its last five games, ending in a disappointing 5-7 on the season.

12. Baylor – Baylor was an average team this season. It seemed like they could never figure out what its identity was.

13. Houston – The Cougars were 1-4 in their last five games this season, and they just fired their head coach Dana Holgorsen. Not a good time to be a Houston fan.

14. Cincinnati – The Bearcats struggled to get anything going this season. It was a disappointing start to a new era in the conference.

After suffering a loss to the Texas Longhorns last Saturday, OSU will take on Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX.

It will be a matchup of old foes in the Big 12, but they've seen each other since the Aggies went to the SEC. In 2019, OSU and Texas A&M squared off in the Texas Bowl, where it was the Aggies taking home the 24-21 victory.

It will be one of the more interesting bowl games this season, but it certainly won’t be the best. Here is where I rank the Cowboys bowl game this season.

Texas Bowl – 23rd

Out of the 41 bowl games this season, this game will fall in the middle of the pack. It will be a good game, but it won’t be the best game. Both teams have already had players enter the transfer portal, so who knows who will be suiting up for the game on Dec. 27.

Cowboy running back Ollie Gordon will be the main man for the Cowboys, and he will look to get OSU to double-digit wins this season.

Texas A&M has been inconsistent at times this season, but it will have a new culture with Mike Elko taking over at College Station. The game has a lot of interesting storylines, so it should be a good one in Houston, TX.
