Mason Rudolph was the focal point of the Cowboys in the NFL, but in a scary way

STILLWATER -- This is always a fun article for me to write each week as I get to update myself and every OSU fan on how the former Cowboys are doing each week in the NFL.

I admit that I wasn't in front of the television yesterday as my wife and I were at the Marland Mansion in Ponca City for Oktoberfest. It was a chilly, rainy and breezy Sunday afternoon and if I'm being honest, it's some of our favorite weather, but I digress. All of that to say that I wasn't aware of the hit on Mason Rudolph until late last night after we got home.

It's a rather distressing hit to watch as Rudolph, who was hit by Ravens defender Earl Thomas, appeared to be knocked unconscious as soon as contact was made, but his head snapped back and hit the ground rather hard.

Rudolph, who walked off the field being helped by trainers but under his own power, was transported to the hospital following the hit and was released Sunday evening and was reported to be doing well.

Prior to being knocked out of the game, Rudolph was playing rather well as was 13-of-20 for 131 yards and one touchdown. In fact, the play in which he was knocked out, he was flushed out of the pocket and made a beautiful throw to James Washington for a third down completion.

It hasn't been released yet, but with how violent the hit was that caused the concussion, I would expect Rudolph to be out this week against the Chargers.

The Steelers ended up losing to Baltimore 26-23 in overtime, but James Washington was second in receiving yards for the Steelers as he hauled in 52 yards on three receptions.

As for Justice Hill, he recorded seven yards on two carries for the Ravens. Pittsburgh travels to Los Angeles this weekend to face the Chargers for the Sunday night game on NBC (7:20 CT) and the Ravens will host the Bengals for a noon kick on CBS.

Dan Bailey and the Minnesota Vikings beat the New York Giants 28-10 and Bailey was critical to the win. He went 4-for-4 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points. The Vikings will host the Eagles this week for a noon kick on FOX.

Chris Carson and Tre Flowers beat the Rams 30-29 in the Thursday night game last week. Carson had 27 carries for 118 yards while Tre Flowers recorded five total tackles, three of which were solo stops.

The Seahawks will travel to Cleveland this week to face the Browns for noon kick on FOX.

Blake Jarwin and the Dallas Cowboys fell to the Green Bay Packers 34-24. Jarwin didn't record any stats. Jarwin the Cowboys travel to New York to face the Jets for a 3:25 p.m. CT kick on CBS.

Emmanuel Ogbah and the Chiefs fell 19-13 to the Colts in a rather bizarre game. Ogbah, however, recorded six total tackles, two of which were solo stops. The Chiefs play host to the Texans this week for a noon kick on CBS.

Kevin Peterson and the Arizona Cardinals beat the Bengals 26-23 this past weekend. Peterson had a great game as he recorded four total tackles, two of which were solo stops. The Cardinals face Atlanta this weekend for a 3:05 p.m. CT kick on FOX.

Linebacker Justin Phillips and the Raiders took care of business this past weekend against the Bears as they won 24-21. Phillips recorded one solo stop in the game. The Raiders on off this week and will face the Packers on Oct. 20 at Lambeau Field for a noon kick on CBS.
