Here's what you need to know ahead of the Cowboys and Cyclones faceoff on Saturday.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are continuing to cycle three quarterbacks as Big 12 play is here. The Cowboys begin conference play against the Iowa State Cyclones.

Since the Cowboys have gotten off to such a rocky start, this matchup against the Cyclones couldn't have come at a better time. Now, Oklahoma State gets the chance to extend their quarterback rotation while potentially coming away with a win.

This game will likely be a slugfest. Both offenses are going to struggle to score, and the Cowboys might just have the better defense at its highest potential.

There's a chance that the first team to score two touchdowns will ultimately win the game. If this game comes down to a final, game-winning drive, the defense is at a major advantage.

Both of these teams just lost to a group of five opponent ahead of conference play, so who knows which way this matchup will really go. It's wild to think that this game, despite the Cowboys rotating quarterbacks for the third straight game, could advance to 3-1 on the season heading into their bye week.

Ultimately, establishing a quarterback and winning this game ahead of the week off could do wonders for the Cowboys. They play Kansas State and Kansas in their two games off the bye week, and a loss this weekend wouldn't shape up nicely for those two games.

As for Iowa State, they're having similar issues. Moving the ball isn't easy, and they can't run the ball so well, even with weaker competition to start the season.
