Slight speculation began to run recently as it became public that Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy listed his $8 million home for sale. In short, Gundy isn't going anywhere. The longtime Cowboys head coach is staying with his alma mater in search for its first Big 12 title since 2011.

On Tuesday, Gundy confirmed that he and his wife Kristen listed their home on Zillow, and even broke down their decision to do so. Evidently, with his kids grown, a house of that size is too much. Their family has been in the house for years -- with Gundy estimating roughly 13 years.

“Times have changed since then,” Gundy said. “It’s just a big place for two people. Somebody else needs to be able to enjoy it at some point. It’s too big of a house for two people. It needs to be for a young family that has a lot of energy and wants to be on a ranch and goof around and have a swimming pool and all that stuff. That’s kind of past my time at this point.”

What did Gundy like about the house -- which is a six bedroom house, spanning 13,853 square feet with eight bathrooms?

“I have a lot of privacy out there,” Gundy said. “I like that. Like if I wanna get up in the middle of the night and go out in the front yard, take the dogs out, I don’t have to care who’s out there. You can take that wherever you want.”

It's certainly a nice house, but it's seemingly too much for Gundy and his wife, as they remain rooted in Stillwater. Along with selling his house, Gundy is guiding an Oklahoma State team returning 21 starters through spring football while preparing for the 2024 college football season.
