Next Man Up: Highlights From Oklahoma State RB Signee Rodney Fields
The offseason is officially upon us, and there is no better way to begin looking ahead to next season than checking out some of Oklahoma State's top recruits in the 2024 cycle.
OSU running back signee Rodney Fields is ranked as a three-star recruit and is the 73rd-ranked running back in the country. The Oklahoma City product stands in at 5-foot-9, 187 pounds. He is the highest-rated running back in Oklahoma State's 2024 class.
Fields runs with a lot of power, especially for his size, and he is not afraid of contact. He has good balance, as well as a low center of gravity, making it difficult to bring him down in open space.
His vision has improved greatly since the beginning of his high school career. He does not waste too much time getting to the hole, and he has shown that he is able to find cutback lanes when necessary. He fights for every yard, and he has the speed required to play the position as well, running a 10.98 100-meter dash.
Overall, I think Fields will end up being a very solid player for the Cowboys. I do not think he will get much run early, but once he bulks up a bit, he could be a very reliable option for the Oklahoma State offense. You can watch some of his highlights by clicking here.
