A former Oklahoma State star is headed to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Former OSU wide receiver Justin Blackmon will be inducted as a first-ballot hall of famer in December. In his time at OSU, Blackmon made a long-lasting impact on the program and the college football world.

In 2010, Blackmon broke out onto the scene with 111 catches as a sophomore. He went for 1,782 receiving yards and helped lead OSU to an 11-2 season.

That year, he also earned a number of honors, including the Biletnikoff Award. With 21 total touchdowns, the star receiver brought home Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year to become the first Cowboy to win the award.

In 2011, Blackmon was a consensus All-American for the second straight season. With 122 receptions for 1,522 yards, he became the second player to win back-to-back Biletnikoff Awards.

One of the best games of his career also came that season with a 13-catch, 205-yard performance against No. 14 Kansas State. In the last five minutes, Blackmon caught a go-ahead touchdown in the 52-45 win.

Of course, 2011 was more than just an impressive campaign for Blackmon, it was a groundbreaking season for OSU. With an 11-1 regular season, OSU finished No. 3 in the final BCS ranking to narrowly miss out on a chance to play for the national championship.

However, the Cowboys earned a spot in the Fiesta Bowl against No. 4 Stanford. Blackmon capped off his illustrious college career with 186 yards and three touchdowns against the Cardinal to seal the Cowboys’ first BCS bowl win.

Blackmon finished his career at OSU with 3,564 receiving yards and 40 touchdown catches. That was more than enough for the Jacksonville Jaguars to take him as the No. 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

While he only played 20 games across two seasons in the NFL, Blackmon still tallied 93 catches for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns.

Considering the star’s success in Stillwater, Blackmon’s selection was an obvious decision. After having one of the most impactful careers in OSU history, Blackmon will be immortalized as one of college football’s greatest.
