Oklahoma State Receives Two Transfer Portal Commitments
While Oklahoma State has had a number of players commit to return, the transfer portal is also providing value.
The Cowboys have received two recent commitments that could help them on both sides of the ball. On Thursday, former Ohio tight end Tyler Foster announced on social media that he planned to play in Stillwater.
Foster will look to be another option for quarterback Alan Bowman, who recently received a waiver to play his seventh season. With the Bobcats in 2023, Foster finished as their fifth-leading receiver, making 20 catches for 211 yards.
In helping Ohio to back-to-back 10-win seasons, the tight end had another good season in 2022. While he only caught 13 passes for 185 yards, he finished with four receiving touchdowns to finish third on the team.
Foster played against a power five opponent three times as a Bobcat, including a 34-yard performance with a touchdown at Iowa State in 2022. His best play with the Bobcats came at the end of that season, catching a game-winning touchdown pass in overtime to beat Wyoming in the Arizona Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys earned a commitment on Friday from defensive end Obi Ezeigbo. In 2022, Ezeigbo played under OSU’s defensive coordinator, Bryan Nardo.
While he had a good season under Nardo, Ezeigbo had a breakout 2023 campaign. The defensive lineman ended the season with 54 tackles and led the team in sacks with 7.5.
Those numbers are a substantial jump from his 2022 season when he finished with 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He also forced a fumble in his season with Nardo.
In four years at Gannon, he tallied 14 sacks and 108 tackles. In his final game of the 2023 season, he tied his season-highs with eight tackles and two sacks.
While there is no guarantee either player will get significant playing time in 2024, the Cowboys continue to get more depth as they look to make a push for the Big 12 title.
