With the season wrapping up, it’s time to hand out some awards and honors, and Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon secured his first honor on Wednesday.

The sophomore was named to PFF’s All-American Team on offense, collecting his first All-American honor of his career.

Gordon’s numbers this season deserve recognition, for he led the nation in rushing yards. He had 1614 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns. The running back was No.3 ranked in yards per carry in the conference this season with 6.26 yards.

When the Cowboys went on a five-game winning streak, Gordon’s play went to new heights. He had five straight games with over 100 rushing yards, including two games with over 250 rushing yards.

Gordon wasn't just a runner, he was also a reliable receiver at times this season for the Cowboys.

Gordon had 325 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown, including six receptions for 116 yards against the Kansas Jayhawks.

Oklahoma State's offense struggled for the first three games this season, especially Gordon. The running back had only 19 carries for 109 yards, including a season-low three carries for 12 yards in OSU's loss to South Alabama.

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said after that loss to South Alabama that the offense was going to become more balanced and rely on Gordon and the running attack.

That change in the offense led the Cowboys to a 9-4 record and a spot in the Big 12 Championship game against the Texas Longhorns.

Even though the Cowboys came up short against the Longhorns, Gordon and the Cowboys should be excited about what they were able to accomplish.

Gordon and OSU have a shot to get to double-digit wins this season when it takes on Texas A&M on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. at NRG Stadiums in Houston, TX.
