Oklahoma State Star Running Back Not Rushing to Make An Announcement on Future
One question Oklahoma State coaches and fans want to be answered is whether Ollie Gordon is coming back of OSU in the 2024 season.
On Thursday, Gordon spoke to the media, and he said he isn't rushing to make a decision.
"I'm on my own time really," Gordon said.
Take that however you want OSU fans, but it is up to Gordon on what he wants to do next season.
The sophomore running back has had an excellent season for the Cowboys, rushing for 1,614 yards, which is tops in the country.
Gordon also has 20 rushing touchdowns this season, including five rushing touchdowns against BYU.
The sophomore's season turned into some hardware, for he was named the winner of the Doak Walker Award. He is the first Cowboy running back to win that award in program history.
Gordon said everyone is starting to recognize him more, and he is all for it.
"People knowing who I am honesty. I feel like that's the thing that changed," Gordon said. "I'm cool with it. I'm here for it. Ollie is for the people."
Gordon said he wouldn't be in this position without the men up-front.
"I couldn't do it without my line or my teammates," Gordon said. "I really just thank them the whole time because without them, I wouldn't even been in that conversation."
On Thursday, Gordon picked up All-American honors from the American Football Coaches Association. That honor earned him unanimous All-American, making him the first Cowboy to do that since Chuba Hubbard in 2019.
Gordon does have a decision about his future at Oklahoma State, but he is also getting ready for the final contest of the season.
Gordon and the Cowboys will take on Texas A&M on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX. The game can be seen on ESPN.
