Oklahoma State Star Among Best Returning Wide Receivers in 2024
The return of a star wide receiver could make Oklahoma State’s offense one of the best in the country.
After four seasons with OSU, wide receiver Brennan Presley made the decision to come back for a fifth and final season. Presley’s role in OSU’s offense throughout the past few seasons has earned him national attention.
Although he might not be winning big-time awards like Ollie Gordon II, Presley’s impact on the offense has been instrumental to the Cowboys’ success. His play has landed him on PFF’s Top 10 returning wide receivers for 2024.
PFF ranked Presley eighth on its list, making him one of two Big 12 players in the top 10. He joins Tetairoa McMillan from Arizona as the conference’s representatives.
For Presley to earn a spot on the list, he is coming off his most productive season yet. He caught 101 passes for 991 receiving yards and six touchdown catches in 2023.
After a slow start to the season, Presley’s production increased significantly after the bye week. A loss to Iowa State to begin conference play sparked the coaching staff to increase Presley’s role.
After failing to reach 25 yards in three of OSU’s first four games, he never had fewer than 39 yards in the last 10 games. If Presley’s bowl performance is any indication, he will have plenty of momentum to carry into 2024.
In the Texas Bowl against Texas A&M, Presley made 16 receptions for 152 yards in an OSU win. That was Presley’s second game with at least 150 yards, the first coming at Houston in November.
Alongside Gordon, Presley will be one of OSU’s most explosive options in 2024. Considering the dual-threat nature of both players, offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn will have an opportunity to get creative with what could be one of the most versatile offenses in college football.
