The Oklahoma State Cowboys are hosting the Oklahoma Sooners in Stillwater a week from Saturday in what is the final Bedlam matchup. The Sooners are setting sail from the Big 12 and will end up in the SEC, so the annual matchup will be no longer.

Many fans are hoping for a primetime Bedlam game, given that it's an often anticipated matchup and consistently provides incredible moments year after year.

We won't know what time the matchup is until after next week's slate of college football games, though, the Big 12 announced. The game time will be announced sometime this next weekend.

A season ago, the Sooners routed the Cowboys 28-13 in a game that saw Spencer Sanders throwing the ball 67 times. It was an interesting matchup as the Sooners got up 28-0 in the first quarter but didn't score again in the game.

It'll be interesting to see what this edition of Bedlam could have. It's hard to imagine the atmosphere in Stillwater won't be incredible, especially as a Cowboys win could mean a lot. If Oklahoma State is able to come away with a win, the Big 12 standings could get a bit weird, as Texas and Oklahoma are the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the conference, though there would be a big tie.

Oklahoma State could make a case for a Big 12 Championship game if they're able to take down the No. 6 Sooners in a couple of weeks. First, though, they've got to take care of business against Cincinnati on homecoming this week.

Given where the Cowboys started this season through the first four weeks, it's wild to think that the final Bedlam could actually have some meaning in the Big 12 standings. Again, this game would make an electric night, primetime game with all the hype that could surround it. Who knows, maybe Oklahoma State can find its way to be ranked by the time the matchup comes around, too.
