Oklahoma State started hot and finished hot, too.

OSU beat Kansas 39-32 for its second straight win. OSU used a massive day from Ollie Gordon running and receiving to get the win, as he finished with 284 total yards.

Looking to convert a fourth down with seven minutes left, Kansas quarterback Jason Bean tried to evade pressure and fumbled. A Kansas offensive lineman recovered it, but the turnover on downs gave OSU the ball at midfield.

The Cowboys took advantage of the opportunity and scored their only touchdown of the second half. Brennan Presley took a handoff running to the left and found his way into the end zone for the late lead.

OSU stuffed Kansas for a couple of final stops. Bean went back to pass and had his throw batted down at the line of scrimmage on fourth down.

Then, after OSU kicked a field goal to go up seven with 15 seconds left, Kansas had one last chance. But Nick Martin sacked Bean on the last play to secure the win.

With the Jayhawks threatening to extend the lead to two possessions late in the third quarter, the Cowboys defense got its first takeaway. Kendall Daniels picked off Bean’s throw at the goal line and gave the offense a chance to take the lead back.

But OSU stalled on offense for a second straight time in the red zone. OSU settled for another field goal to get within two but got the ball back again.

On the next drive, Bean’s pass was tipped by DeSean Brown and picked off by Dylan Smith to set up OSU in excellent field position. But the Kansas defense forces OSU into a field goal attempt that Alex Hale missed from 43 yards out.

While the second half had limited scoring, the first half was filled with fireworks. Bean had already thrown for 274 yards and four touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Gordon scored a couple of touchdowns in the first two quarters for OSU. A 42-yard touchdown run from Gordon gave OSU the lead late in the second quarter before Kansas took it back just before halftime.

Although the Cowboys had struggles throughout the game, a win over a ranked Kansas team should provide a boost moving forward.
