OSU Football Makes The Cut for 2025 Four-Star Edge Rusher
On Wednesday, January 17th, four-star edge Chad Woodfork released his top nine schools, and Oklahoma State made the cut. The other schools on the list were Texas Tech, Houston, USC, Georgia, Baylor, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, and Texas.
Woodfork hails from Summer Creek High School in Humble, Texas. He is ranked as the 42nd overall player in the nation (#6 EDGE) and is the ninth-ranked player in the state of Texas.
Summer Creek went 14-2 in Woodfork's Junior season, with their only losses coming against North Shore and DeSoto. They are ranked as the 48th-best team in the nation by MaxPreps, making them the seventh-ranked team in the state of Texas.
Woodfork totaled 33 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and three sacks along with seven hurries over the course of the 2023 season. He also deflected a pass and recovered three fumbles.
Woodfork shows a lot of talent and natural ability, and with a 6-4, 220-pound frame, he certainly has the body to get after the passer effectively. Still, it feels like an uphill battle for Oklahoma State in terms of garnering a commitment. It is always going to be tough to compete against the likes of Georgia and Texas, and when you add to that the fact that Oklahoma State struggled at times defensively last season, it makes it that much tougher to win the battle.
Still, Mike Gundy and company have done an excellent job recruiting Woodfork up to this point. We will see if the Pokes can keep up with some of the juggernauts on the list and stay in the battle going forward.
