OSU Football Recruiting: 2024 Wide Receiver Commit Upgraded to Four-Star Recruit
The Oklahoma State Cowboys haven't had a four-star recruit since 2021. That was when they hauled in five four-star talents, with four of the five being local Oklahoma talents. The list of 2021 four-stars includes Kendal Daniels, Collin Oliver, Nick Martin, Ty Williams and Aden Kelley.
Now, the Cowboys have secured their first four-star recruit since 2021, though it was because a signee of their 2024 class received an upgrade. Wide receiver signee Tre Griffiths from Keller, TX, was the former Cowboy to receive a rankings boost as he's now listed as a four-star on 247Sports.
Over three seasons, spanning from 2021 to 2023, Griffiths hauled in 101 receptions for 2,148 receiving yards and 19 receiving touchdowns. His incredible senior season led to a First-Team All-District selection for District 4-6A in Texas, which is an incredible honor in a competitive state for the sport.
Griffiths committed to the Cowboys on June 18, 2023, before eventually signing with the team on Early Signing Day. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver is going to provide solid size and great speed for his position, as he's also a track star in high school.
The Keller product is going to provide a huge impact, especially developing under a Power Five system known for taking talents and helping them reach their potential. With his size and athleticism, he's going to provide good early depth at the wide receiver position, as well as blossom into an eventual star with NFL upside.
Griffiths was one of 21 players across the nation to get the bump from a three-star recruit to a four-star recruit.
Oklahoma State has seen plenty of star skilled position players develop under its system and eventually make the NFL, and Griffiths certainly shows potential to have a similar trajectory after getting to Stillwater. Watching his collegiate career unfold with the Cowboys will be pleasant to watch.
