The Oklahoma State Cowboys saw plenty of help from incoming transfers in the 2023 college football season. One of those was transfer tight end Josiah Johnson, who transferred from Massachusetts after four seasons.

The grad transfer appeared in 14 games with the Cowboys in his lone season in Stillwater, and he now is set to take his talents to the pro level. On Thursday, Johnson announced his declaration to the 2024 NFL Draft on his social media

"I am overwhelmed with gratitude for Oklahoma State University and the Cowboys coaching staff for giving me one of the best years of my life," Johnson wrote in his post. "I am forever grateful for the opportunity you gave me to play for such an esteemed program. Winning the last Bedlam, playing in the conference championship, as well as playing in and winning my first ever bowl game will be memories I will hold onto for the rest of my life."

As mentioned, Johnson spent four years at Massachusetts. He logged 465 receiving yards on 50 receptions with five touchdowns during his time with the program. After transferring, Johnson tallied 166 receiving yards at Oklahoma State while scoring an additional touchdown on 22 receptions.

Including two rushing touchdowns in his career, Johnson posted eight touchdowns in his college football career. The graduate tight end is also playing in the Trillion Tropical Bowl in Daytona, FL on Saturday.

Beyond the box score, Johnson provided incredible blocking for a team that leaned so heavily into the rushing game behind superstar running back Ollie Gordon. He proved that he can contribute beyond catching passes and is willing to do anything to earn snaps on the field.

It will be a story to watch as Johnson enters the draft, and if he doesn't land on a roster initially, he'll surely find his way onto a practice squad or into a situation to bring himself more exposure.
