Will Oklahoma State's Offensive Line be Back at Full Strength for Baylor?
STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State's been without its starting left tackle, Dylan Galloway, for the past two games. They've also had to play musical chairs along the offensive line during those two games due to injuries at multiple positions.
One of the guys getting some experience is redshirt freshman Hunter Anthony. He not only his first start of the season against Kansas State at left tackle, but his second start against Tech, this time at right guard.
"It happens; injuries are part of the game," said Mike Gundy. "When you start shuffling around those five guys, I'm not a big fan of that. If we didn't have injuries, very seldom do we move those guys around, even in years we struggled. If we don't keep them in the same spots, it's not easy for them to get better. Some other guys are also getting a little experience and they're getting better too."
Galloway is one of the more experienced offensive linemen for the Pokes as he's started all but two games this season at left tackle the final five games of the 2018 season.
So, when he's in, there's no doubt that Spencer Sanders performs better. Marshall Scott of Pistols Firing put together a few stats on the difference of having Galloway in the lineup.
Through the first four games of the season, Sanders completed 65 percent of his passes with just three interceptions. During the past two games, he's still completed 61 percent of his passes, but he's thrown five interceptions and has been sacked nine times. During the first four games, he was sacked only four times.
The good news is that Galloway was back out on the field at practice this past Sunday. "He's back; he was practicing with us [Sunday] night," said coach Gundy. "Depending on how he progresses, hopefully we can get him back out there this week."
