Recruiting: Oklahoma State Football Offers Three-Star EDGE
Oklahoma State has been recruiting hard as of late, sending out dozens of offers over the past couple of months in hopes of adding to their 2025 class. Their latest offer was sent out to none other than three-star EDGE Caleb Smith.
Smith comes from Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He stands in at 6-5, 235-pounds, and is ranked at 682nd overall (No. 69 DL). He holds plenty of power five offers, including the likes of Missouri, Louisville and Washington.
The defense was not exactly a strong suit last season, especially against the run. The Pokes were ranked 96th against the run last year, allowing over 168 yards a game on the ground last year.
The Cowboys also were not getting a ton of pressure, ranking 80th in team sacks. Hopefully, the Pokes are able to land Caleb Smith to help give the defensive line a boost.
With Smith's size and length, he has a great build for the edge position. The 2024 season will be standout defensive lineman Collin Oliver's last year, so the Pokes will need to reload along the defensive line with more players like Smith who has size.
Currently, Oklahoma State's 2025 class only consists of one recruit, Matrail Lopez, but the Cowboys are working hard behind the scenes to change that. They have sent out several offers to some of the top talent in the class such as CJ May, which you can read about by clicking here.
