STILLWATER -- Last season, Oklahoma State forward Yor Anei led the Big 12 and tied the school record for blocked shots, and on Wednesday the league's head coaches rewarded him with a spot on the Preseason All-big 12 Honorable Mention team.

One of the nation's elite shot blockers, Anei ranked seventh in the NCAA and tops in the Big 12 with 2.7 blocks per game in 2018-19. His 85 rejections tied Andre Williams (2002-03) for the most in Cowboy basketball history.

According to KenPom, Anei blocked 13.7 percent of opponent 2-point shots while he was on the floor, which is the fourth-best block percentage in the country and the best by any freshman.

His eight blocks against West Virginia are the most ever by an OSU freshman and the second most in school history. Anei posted nine games with at least four blocks in 2018-19, which tied him with Bryant Reeves for the fifth most ever by a Cowboy in a career.

Over the final three games of the season, the Overland Park, Kansas native averaged 15.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.0 blocks and shot 70.4 percent from the floor.

Anei and the Cowboy open the 2019-20 season against oral Roberts on Nov. 6 and Kansas City on Nov. 9. The Cowboy will also host Rogers State in an exhibition game on Nov. 1.
