Viktor Hovland may only be 26 years old, but his legacy continues to grow.

Over the weekend, Hovland played in the Ryder Cup for Europe. The Norweigan put on an impressive display in helping Team Europe emerge victorious in the Ryder Cup.

The Oklahoma State product capped off his weekend with a 4&3 win against Collin Morikawa on Sunday in the singles session. Hovland took an early lead before Morikawa fought back, but Hovland’s par on the 15th hole was good enough to seal his victory and add the first point for Europe on the final day.

“That was awesome,” Hovland said. “It was nice to put up the first point for Europe. I think we are all just trying to take care of our business. You know, every single match feels like a sprint, but it's still 18 holes.”

Europe finished with a 16.5-11.5 win against the United States, as Hovland accounted for 3.5 of Europe’s points. The former Cowboy got started on Friday with a win and a tie.

The win and full point came alongside Ludvig Aberg in a 4&3 match that ended after the 15th hole. Then, in the afternoon four-ball, Hovland and Tyrrell Hatton tied with Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

Hovland split his two matches on Saturday but started off with a win. In the morning foursomes, Hovland and Aberg went for a 9&7 win against Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka that lasted only 11 holes.

"I don’t think we could have done a whole lot better," Hovland said. "It’s nice to kind of speak our own language, and we understand each other.”

That same duo lost 4&3 in the afternoon four-ball against Sam Burns and Morikawa. Still, Aberg was able to clinch Europe two points by playing alongside Hovland on the way to a Ryder Cup win.

“It's an unbelievable time for me to be here to play alongside one of the best players in the world in Viktor and to be playing against other world-class players," Aberg said.

Hovland’s Ryder Cup performance after winning the FedEx Cup is just another example of how special the former Cowboy has been in his young career.
