Rickie Fowler can often be seen wearing orange on Sundays, typically the final day of whatever tournament he's playing in.

Every since Fowler turned pro in golf, he vowed to wear the orange to honor Oklahoma State, his alma mater. Not only has Fowler carved out an incredible pro career for himself, but he and his orange shirt and hat have become one of the most recognizable athletes in the sport.

While riding so heavily for the program years after he attended as a golfer himself, Fowler is being inducted into the OSU Hall of Honor along with five other athletes.

"This is special," Fowler told a pool of reporters at the event. "Wins are great, and that's what we play for. Things like this [induction] are ones that last forever, being in the Hall with a bunch of other accomplished and successful people. It's special. These are things that all those trophies and things we do on and off the golf course add up to."

Fowler joins the Hall with David Arndt (wrestling), Justin Blackmon (football), Yolanda Odenyo (soccer), coach Ann Pitts (golf) and Shelby Wilson (wrestling).

Being a pro golfer out of Stillwater, Fowler gets the opportunity to see the rise of other pro golfers who wear orange. One recent riser has been Viktor Hovland, who recently won the FedEx Cup title.

Fowler was asked about watching Hovland's rise and getting to know him.

"Viktor's a great kid. I've had a lot of fun getting to know him over the years, from him being at school and then turning pro, to see his success," Fowler said. "He's a humble kid from Norway. He's, in a way, starting to kind of learn and adjust to the position he's in because it's been a quick rise."

It's cool to see Fowler has left such an impact and been able to sustain success long enough to see recent Pokes in the pros. He'll now be able to wear orange on Sundays while being a member of the OSU Hall of Honor and representing Oklahoma State will mean just a little bit more.
