Former Oklahoma State golf star Viktor Hovland will be competing in the Oak Tree National Pro-Scratch Invitational on Oct. 26-27 in Edmond, OK.

It will be the first time Hovland competes on Oklahoma soil since the PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in May 2022.

Hovland will be competing alongside former OSU golfers Charles Howell III and Matthew Wolff. Hovland will be teaming with Ian Davis, who is another former standout at Oklahoma State.

Wolff and Hovland won the NCAA National Championship in 2018 with Oklahoma State at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater.

The Cowboys beat Alabama that day, sweeping the Crimson Tide 5-0, claiming its 11th national championship.

The Norwegian star was spectacular last season on the PGA Tour, winning the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship. He also took home The Memorial and got second in the PGA Championship last year at Los Angeles Country Club.

Hovland’s most recent competition was the past month, where he competed for Team Europe in the 2023 Ryder Cup. Hovland and Team Europe captured the victory, beating Team USA 16 ½ to 11 ½.

The field is loaded for next week's invitational, including PGA Tour members Taylor Moore, Austin Eckroat, Max McGreevy, Robert Streb and Sam Stevens.

The two-day event will be held at Oak Tree National, the golf course that most Oklahoma pro players reside at.

The winner of the event will take home $12.5 thousand of the $30,000 purse, with the rest being distributed to the other top finishers.

Oak Tree Member Taylor Gooch, who played for Oklahoma State and is currently on LIV Tour, has won the event three times. Hovland will look to win it for the first time next week.

The event will be held Oct. 26-27. The event is not open to the public.
