Tulsa will continue to host one of college wrestling’s biggest events.

The Big 12 announced on Tuesday the conference will continue to hold its wrestling championship in Tulsa through 2028. In partnership with the Tulsa Sports Commission, the BOK Center will remain the conference’s home.

Tulsa has hosted the conference championship since 2017, making this the eighth straight at the BOK Center.

Oklahoma State has had success in the Big 12 Championship, winning every title from 2013-20211. After a fourth-place finish in 2022, OSU fell just short, finishing second to Missouri in 2023.

With OSU, 14-1, as the closest Big 12 team to the site, the BOK Center can feel like home for the team. This year’s championship will take place on March 9-10.

OSU has been among college wrestling’s elite this season. Although the team lost its most recent match 22-9 in the greatest rivalry in college wrestling against No. 4 Iowa on Sunday, OSU is poised to compete for a championship in a couple of weeks.

The Cowboys finished the regular season No. 4 in the NWCA Coaches Poll, the highest ranking in the Big 12.

Led by Daton Fix, who finished his career in Gallagher-Iba Arena undefeated, the Cowboys are hoping to add to their rich history. After the Iowa match, Fix explained the special relationship he has with the Cowboys, which could prove significant in the championship.

"I just wanted to take it in one last time," Fix said. "I grew up dreaming of putting on that orange singlet and wrestling in Gallagher. When I was a little kid, I spent a lot of a lot of time here, so it's a dream come true for me just to be able to represent Oklahoma State.

“I love Oklahoma State with everything in me, I'm a Cowboy forever, and I definitely bleed orange."
