Bryce Thompson May Miss Oklahoma State's Next Game
Oklahoma State could be without one of its top scorers in Friday’s game.
Bryce Thompson is “probably doubtful,” according to OSU coach Mike Boynton. Thompson suffered a leg injury in OSU’s game against St. Bonaventure on Thursday.
Thompson missed a significant portion of the Cowboys’ loss as his night ended after playing only 16 minutes. Thompson tallied seven points on 2-of-6 shooting and added a couple of assists against the Bonnies.
Prior to Thursday’s game, Thompson was OSU’s leading scorer at 18 points per game. His 17-point outing against Sam Houston led OSU to its first win of the season.
This could make the Cowboys’ matchup with Auburn or Notre Dame a tougher challenge, considering their offensive troubles this season. The Cowboys shot 30% from 3-point range and 61% from the foul line in Thursday’s loss, both substantial improvements from their first loss against Abilene Christian.
Without Thompson, the Cowboys’ leader offensively, it could be an ugly outing on Friday, given how the team has looked so far. While the extent of Thompson’s injury is unknown, any missed time from him will hurt the Cowboys.
OSU returns from the Brooklyn trip for a game against New Orleans on Monday, which could be Thompson’s next game if he is ready to return to action.
