Only A Freshman, Lawton's Kingston Tito Is A Name To Keep An Eye On
OKLAHOMA CITY --- Going into the i4 camp showcase, we had a list of players we knew we wanted to talk to and get film of competing at the camp.
As we were standing at the door watching players arrive and sign in, two large athletes caught our attention. We checked their numbers and realized we did not have them highlighted on our list.
We asked Aso Pogi who these two monsters were walking in and he told us they were incoming freshman from Lawton.
When he said they were freshman, I immediately did a double take. There was no way these two were freshman, but they were. I took one and Robert Allen took the other to speak to.
Kingston Tito is his name and he is 6'1 and 235 pounds entering his freshman year at Lawton Eisenhower.
He is very new to the recruitment and camp circuit so this was one of his very first interviews but he did very well.
Tito told me he is focusing on playing the defensive end position for Eisenhower this upcoming season. He says right now his skills are based on raw talent and size but he has been working on honing some specific pass rush skills this summer.
Tito says he's been playing football his whole life so I expect his freshman season to go better than your average freshman playing defensive end. His size will go a long way but what will be key is how much he changes from year one to year two and so on.
For being so big at such a young age, Tito moved well both in the forty yard dash and shuttle run.
If he keeps his body right and stays healthy and perhaps even grows a little, we could be looking at the early stages of one of the next elite Oklahoma defensive linemen. His cousin, who was next to him the entire camp is no different. Same age, same height and weight, and same position.
It is uncertain if there will be high school football played this year but one thing is certain. Lawton Eisenhower is primed to have a powerful and talented set of bookend defensive ends on the field for years to come.
