OSU Softball: Cowgirl Pitcher Sweeps Pitcher Weekly Awards
What a weekend it was for Oklahoma State pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl.
The senior collected two complete-game shutouts over the weekend against Texas as the Cowgirls secured the series victory over the Longhorns.
With two stellar performances over the weekend, Kilfoyl was named Wilson/NFCA D1 National Pitcher of the Week and Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors. It is the second time this season that Kifoyl has swept the weekly honors.
Kilfoyl had 14 innings pitched last week, giving up zero runs on nine hits and 11 strikeouts against the No.2-ranked team in the country.
After taming Texas, Kilfoyl has posted a 0.80 ERA, which is tops in the conference and No. 6 in the nation.
With Kilfoyl sweeping the honors for the second time this season, she becomes the first pitcher in OSU softball history to sweep the honors two times in one season.
With the series victory over Texas, OSU will hit the road this week, with a mid-week game against North Texas and a three-game series against Houston.
The Cowgirls take on North Texas on Wednesday at 6 p.m. They will then turn their attention to Houston, with the first game of the series starting on Friday at 5 p.m. at Houston.
