LIVE UPDATES: Ole Miss Looks to Even Series vs. Iowa

The Ole Miss Rebels look to bounce back from a disappointing Friday night showing against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels suffered a massive letdown on Friday night, dropping the series opener to the Iowa Hawkeyes 13-7 after tying the game in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Rebels will now face the Hawkeyes again on Saturday afternoon with hopes of evening the series, and RHP JT Quinn will draw the start for Ole Miss on the hill. Follow along below for live updates from Swayze Field.

Rebels Implode Late, Drop Series Opener to Iowa

After debuting new cream uniforms on Friday night, Ole Miss is returning to its roots on Saturday, opting to go with its traditional pinstripe look. Iowa is countering with gray jerseys, gray pants and yellow hats.

FIRST INNING

JT Quinn strikes out the leadoff man, and he gives up a single to Sam Petersen. A wild pitch advances him to second, and another advances him to third.

A groundout to short is good for the second out of the inning, but a run comes home for the Hawkeyes. Iowa 1, Ole Miss 0

A popup to right field falls as Treyson Hughes stumbles on his pursuit. Runner at first with two down.

Two runners are now on as Quinn walks Reese Moore with two outs.

A strikeout of Kyle Huckstorf ends the inning.

MID 1: Iowa 1, Ole Miss 0

With one down in the inning, Andrew Fischer hits one a long, long way over the right field wall, and Ole Miss is on the board. Ole Miss 1, Iowa 1

Will Furniss goes down swinging after Jackson Ross is HBP, and Ross steals second on the pitch.

THIRD INNING

Quinn surrenders a leadoff single to right, and that is Iowa's fourth hit of the day.

A long flyout to center is followed by another single to right. Two runners on with one down.

Andrew Fischer fields a ground ball at third and air-mails the throw to first. A run comes home, and runners are now at second and third with one down.
