Ole Miss Baseball Celebrates National Championship With Commemorative License Plate
OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels are now providing a commemorative license plate for the baseball program's national championship run in 2022, the school announced on Thursday.
The license plate is available to residents of Mississippi, and it features the team's national championship logo as well as the word "Champions" on the bottom with the school's "Script M" logo.
Ole Miss made national headlines in the 2022 season when they went from the "last team in" the NCAA Tournament to the "last team standing" with its first national championship in program history. The Rebels went 10-1 over the course of the NCAA Tournament, sweeping action in the Coral Gables Regional and Hattiesburg Super Regional.
The team's lone loss of the tournament came in Omaha, but it was able to rebound and eventually sweep the Oklahoma Sooners in the national championship series to bring home the trophy. Fans of the program can now reserve their license plate with the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation, and the plates themselves will be produced once the foundation has 300 pre-sales. After that point, they will be available for purchase at the county tag offices in Mississippi.
