The Ole Miss Rebels dropped their third-straight series to start SEC play on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Texas A&M Aggies 5-4 thanks to a walk-off home run in the bottom fo the ninth inning.

The Rebels had opportunities to come away with the win and the series on Sunday, but they left five men on base in some crucial situations. Ole Miss entered the ninth inning trailing 4-3 after walking in a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

JT Quinn got the start on the mound for Ole Miss, the first SEC start of his career. It was an efficient one, lasting 5.0 innings and allowing three earned runs on six hits. Following Quinn, Mitch Murrell and Mason Nichols were called upon out of the bullpen, and Nichols was credited with the loss as he allowed the walk-off home run.

Each of the Rebels' four runs came from a different bat in the lineup, including a solo home run from catcher Calvin Harris in the third.

With the loss, Ole Miss has now dropped its first three series of SEC play, and it now holds a 1-8 record within the conference. This week, Ole Miss travels to Memphis for a midweek game on Tuesday before returning home to host Arkansas in a continuation of league play.

First pitch between Ole Miss and Memphis is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday on ESPN+.
