'We'll Be Back!' Judd Utermark 'Confident' in Rebels' Improvement
The last three games have been tough sledding for the Ole Miss Rebels, dropping the final two contests of their opening series against Hawaii and a midweek game to Arkansas State.
A big part of the slow start has come at the plate, as Ole Miss went 1-for-13 with runners on base on Wednesday night against ASU. Infielder Judd Utermark (who hit a solo home run in the loss) knows how much responsibility falls on this offense, and they are not pleased with the current trends at the plate.
"I don't think it causes for much interpretation," Utermark said on Wednesday. "I think it shows kind of what we've done. Obviously, we're all disappointed. Hawaii and now this game, I think if you ask any one of the hitters, we'll all be in agreement that we need to just play better."
That's easier said than done, but a common theme in postgame interviews at Ole Miss on Wednesday revolved around the talent on this roster, something that the Rebels have faith in despite their rocky start.

"It sucks. It sucks to lose," Utermark said, "and I have full confidence in our team to come back, our pack and our staff as well. Staff pitched amazing tonight, so we take blame for it, and we'll be back."
Ole Miss will attempt to right the ship this weekend when the High Point Panthers come to town for the first weekend series of the season at Swayze Field. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network+.
