The Ole Miss Rebels are set to open SEC play this weekend at Swayze Field against the No. 20 South Carolina Gamecocks.

Ole Miss has been red-hot as of late, having won seven in a row and 11 of its last 12 after a slow 2-4 start to the year. Now, however, things get more difficult in the ever-perilous Southeastern Conference.

South Carolina enters this weekend's series as winners of six straight games, and its last losses came on March 2 and 3 against in-state rival Clemson. The Gamecocks have a team batting average of .278 and have hit 24 home runs on the year, but their real pride comes on the mound where their staff boasts a cumulative 2.21 ERA.
