Coastal Carolina Transfer LHP Liam Doyle Commits to Ole Miss
The Ole Miss Rebels gained another commitment out of the transfer portal with coveted left-handed prospect Liam Doyle of Coastal Carolina on Monday afternoon.
During Doyles' time at Coastal, he was ranked as the No. 21 impact freshman in the Sun Belt Conference by D1 Baseball. He carried a 4.15 ERA with three wins and one loss in 56.1 innings pitched. He struck out 69 batters on the year with a career high nine in one game against Rider in six innings pitched and pitched for six or more innings in three of his last four starts of the season as he started to find his stride.
The 6-2, 185 pounder from Derry, New Hampshire, was the No. 3 ranked 2022 prospect and the No. 1 left handed pitcher in the state coming out of high school according to Perfect Game. He was the No.40 left handed pitcher nationally and a two-time New Hampshire State Player of the Year by Prep Baseball Report (2021 and 2022).
During his senior season at Pinkerton Academy, he went 7-2 on the mound and struck out 125 batters in 61.2 innings pitched. He had two-complete games and tallied 26 strikeouts while hitting .364 with two doubles and three RBIs in two wins during the week of April 10-17, 2022.
The Rebels now have obtained two of the top 16 players in this year's transfer portal as they look to revamp from their poor 2023 season.
