Southeastern Louisiana University Pitcher Connor Spencer Lands with Ole Miss Baseball

Ole Miss baseball adds yet another transfer from the portal for the 2024 season.
In this story:

Southeastern Louisiana Lions pitcher Connor Spencer announced his commitment to Ole Miss baseball Monday night via Twitter, adding to the Rebels’ transfer portal class this offseason.

There, he credits his previous schools, coaches and family for helping him get to Ole Miss. As a native of Hernando, Mississippi, this union could be a good transition for the incoming redshirt senior. As a right hander, Spencer stands at 6-2 and weighs 225 pounds, and Ole Miss is his fourth and final stop since finishing high school.

According to Perfect Game, Spencer was the No. 20-ranked pitcher in the state of Mississippi while playing for Hernando High. After sitting out the 2021 season, Spencer made a stop right around the corner to Northwest Mississippi Community College. There, he carded 48 strikeouts with a 2.55 ERA in 18 games during the 2022 season.

Spencer made his Division I debut at Southeastern Louisiana University in 2023, posting a 5.65 ERA, striking out 23 batters and walking 10 in 14.1 innings pitched. He gave up 13 hits and 10 runs during that time, and even contributed a home run at-bat.
