Amaree Abram to Enter Transfer Portal, Per Report
OXFORD, Miss. -- Rising-sophomore guard Amaree Abram of the Ole Miss Rebels is expected to enter the transfer portal, reports indicated on Saturday.
Abram, who spent his first season at Ole Miss in 2022-23, wound up being a large part of the Rebels team down the stretch. Joe Tipton of On3 was the first to report the news on Saturday.
In his one season at Ole Miss, the Port Arthur, Texas, and Southern California Academy product found his season-high in points on Nov. 24 against the Stanford Cardinal, a game that the Rebels won in the ESPN Events Invitational in the early portions of the season.
The guard also played 38 minutes, a season-high, against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in February, a game where the Rebels suffered a loss.
This news comes on the heels of Kermit Davis' firing from the Rebels' head coaching position last month, and the coaching search at Ole Miss has been the headline-grabber in recent weeks. Per reports, Ole Miss has likely narrowed its search to center on former Texas Longhorns head coach Chris Beard, a premier name in the coaching industry whose personal life became news in 2022.
