Saturday's home loss hurt in a myriad of ways for the Ole Miss Rebels.

The largest blow was not the poor performance, but what came at the expense of it. Ole Miss' NCAA Tournament shots took a hit on Saturday in a 72-59 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks at the SJB Pavilion, officially knocking them out of the latest projections for the postseason field.

According to Joe Lunardi's bracketology update released on Monday, the Rebels officially fell to the "Next Four Out" category in the tournament's pecking order, joining the likes of Butler, Kansas State and Iowa.

The schools in the "First Four Out" category are Texas A&M, Villanova, Utah and Colorado. The Rebels have four regular season games remaining before a trip to the SEC Tournament, and they will need to catch fire if they hope to revive their shot at reaching the Big Dance.

Many NCAA Tournament projections have the Ole Miss Rebels listed as a bubble team, and a new set was released on Tuesday that listed them as a 10-seed in the East Region of the bracket.

Andy Katz released his updated NCAA Tournament projections on Tuesday, and the Rebels are joined in their grouping by the Saint Mary's Gaels, Kansas Jayhawks and Colgate Raiders. You can view his entire projections for the NCAA Tournament here.

Ole Miss has some chances on the horizon to improve its tournament chances, beginning with a road trip to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Wednesday before returning home to host the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday. Tip-off between Ole Miss and State is slated for 8 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Ole Miss Rebels returned to their winning ways (albeit narrowly) on Saturday when they took down the Missouri Tigers 79-76 at the SJB Pavilion in Oxford.

With another win under their belt, the Rebels remained in the projections for the NCAA Tournament field released by Joe Lunardi on Sunday, but they still sit on the bubble. Ole Miss is classified among the "Last Four In" for the tournament alongside the Butler Bulldogs, Gonzaga Bulldogs and Providence Friars.

The road for the Rebels becomes more difficult this week, beginning with a road trip to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Wednesday before returning home to host the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday. Tip-off between Ole Miss and State is slated for 8 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

The Rebels entered the game "on the bubble" for the NCAA Tournament, and according to the latest ESPN Bracketology update released by Joe Lunardi on X on Wednesday, Ole Miss remains among the "Last Four In" for the big dance this postseason. You can view his post here.

Joining Ole Miss in this group are the TCU Horned Frogs, Utah Utes and Nevada Wolfpack

The Rebels' odds have been impacted by their recent losing streak, dropping three straight games to the Auburn Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Kentucky. Ole Miss returns to the friendly confines of the SJB Pavilion on Saturday (where it has only lost once this season) with hopes of picking up its first win since Jan. 30 vs. Mississippi State.

Tip-off on Saturday between Ole Miss and the Missouri Tigers is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
